Funny Feelings
Life is funny sometimes or, at least, the human mind can be. The way our feelings evolve, adapt, happen. I actually started thinking about this as I was running earlier today. I ran today because I had a lot on my mind, a lot I wanted to say but did not have the time or people to say it to.
My choice of music reflected this. I went from one bitter song to the next. But as I ran and ran the music eventually, by the end of the hour, had become more positive, more upbeat.
Of course, it should be pretty easy for this to happen when you do not have much to complain about, when you have it really good in this world, when there are 1,000,000 awful things out there that people have to suffer through and you do not. But it’s not like all those people are completely drained of being able to see the bright side, of at least saying to someone else (even if they themselves do not believe it) that life is good. Keep your chin up. Never give up. Don’t let go. Soldier on. Think of all those people, maybe you are one of them. The fighters, the brave ones, the protectors. It’s amazing what good, what hope and faith people can discover even under the worst conditions imaginable. Ones that would make most of us break like a child trying to lie to his patient mother. It’s not just beautiful; however, it’s survival. It keeps people sane in times of insanity. To most of us this may seem impossible, contradictory; yet, for those who can, I am have no doubt that they do only what they know must be done.
